AFC Champions League team Al Shabab have signed Kuwaiti defender Mesaed Neda on a six-month loan deal.
The defender has joined the the 2007-08 UAE League champions from Al Qadsia Sporting Club in his native Kuwait.
The deal, confirmed by the official AFC website, is said to be work around US$ 300,000. Al Shabab are desperate to improve their squad ahead of the forthcoming Asian Champions League and Neda will definitely add some steel to their backline.
Al Qadsiya, however, don’t seem to be too worried at the loss of one of their star players and are rumoured to have already started pursuing replacements. Club official official Mohamed Al Makimi said, “We have many good players and Neda’s absence can be covered.”
Neda will join the likes of former Corinthians star Renato and ex-Blackburn Rovers midfielder Carlos Villanueva in Brazilian coach Paulo Bonamigo’s squad, who are already looking like a dark horse for the ALC crown.
